Common Questions

Everything you need to know about your MOT test at Don Valley MOT Centre.

A typical MOT test takes around 45 minutes. We have a comfortable waiting area with free WiFi and refreshments if you'd like to wait, or you can drop off your vehicle and we'll call you when it's ready.

If your vehicle fails, you'll receive a detailed report explaining exactly why it failed and what needs to be fixed. As a testing-only garage, we don't do repairs ourselves, but the report will help you get quotes from local mechanics. You can return for a free partial retest within 10 working days.

Class 4 MOT covers most vehicles including cars, small vans, motor caravans, and 3-wheeled vehicles up to 3,000kg design gross weight. This includes the vast majority of vehicles on UK roads. If you're unsure if your vehicle qualifies, give us a call.

Absolutely! We have a comfortable waiting area with free WiFi, tea, coffee, and refreshments. Most customers choose to wait as the test only takes around 45 minutes. You're also welcome to drop off and pick up later if that suits you better.

Just bring your vehicle and V5C (logbook) if you have it. Payment is taken at the garage upon completion. Make sure your vehicle has enough fuel and that any warning lights are off (where possible). We'll take care of the rest!

Yes! You can get your MOT done up to one month (minus a day) before it expires without losing any time. Your new MOT will start from your current expiry date, not the test date. This is a great way to avoid any last-minute stress.
